Information publication scheme

Information publication scheme

The Murray–Darling Basin Authority is subject to the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act) and we are required to publish a range of information on our website as part of the Information Publication Scheme (IPS).

Information published includes our structure, functions, appointments, annual reports, consultation arrangements, and contact details for our FOI officer. Information routinely released from FOI requests and routinely provided to parliament is also published online. Our IPS Agency plan outlines our approach to the scheme and what we include in our IPS entry.

The headings below are for each of the categories of information we publish under the IPS, with links to the information or documents.

How we do it

Corporate documents

Consultation arrangements

MDBA's collaboration and consultation arrangements enable members of the public to comment and make submissions on specific policy proposals for which the MDBA is responsible. The MDBA employs a range of external consultation mechanisms from requests for submissions on policy proposals to the use of blogs and other social media tools. If you have any suggestions on how we can do this better, please let us know.

All public consultations on policy proposals will be available on the MDBA's website www.mdba.gov.au.

Information provided in response to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests

Our Disclosure Log lists information which has been released in response to a request for access to information under the FOI Act.

Documents impracticable to publish on line

We may charge for accessing any IPS document which is impracticable to publish online. Documents can be obtained by contacting the Publications Officer on (02) 6279 0100.
