Initial Available Water Determinations are made 1 July, then further Available Water Determinations may be made when water becomes available for distribution.

Manner:

Allocation announcements are made via media releases, displayed on the NSW Department of Industry Water Available Water Determinations page, and also on the media releases page.

How allocation levels are determined:

The Available Water Determinations procedure is generally divided into two sections; the available water asset, and system commitments. Once system commitments have been met the available water asset is then available for distribution to the access licence categories in order of priority. The volume of the announced allocation is expressed as the percentage of share component of the licence or as a volume per share. For further details of the methodology please see the General Purpose Accounting Reports for the Murrumbidgee catchments.

Guidelines for setting Available Water Determinations are set by Part 7 Division 2 of the Water Sharing Plan.
